NEW ARTISTS ADDED TO LINE-UP

READING AND LEEDS ANNOUNCES LINEUP FOR BBC MUSIC INTRODUCING STAGE 2024

Its the stage neatly packed in the centre of the Festival, the one you walk past to get in-between the stages, and if you are like us, you will have happened to have found yourself stopping by because you like the sound of an artist you have happened to stumble across or know little about. Just like us, we hope you have been struck by some the many less well known talented acts that appeared on the BBC Introducing Stage over the years, noted them down and gone home to listen after the Festival. And this year will no different as the latest line up of new emerging talent has been announced.

Reading & Leeds have announced the acts that will be performing this year on the famed BBC Music Introducing Stage, a staple of Reading & Leeds festival since 2008. The longstanding relationship between has played a pivotal part in highlighting up-and-coming artists and in 2024 over 80% of the Reading & Leeds line up have been championed through BBC Introducing.

Joining this first slate of announced acts are the alt four-piece band South Arcade, London-based boy band Soft Launch, gen-z popstar Beren Olivia and the star of social media and Reading local Cameron Hayes.

Also announced for this year’s BBC Music Introducing stage include grime rapper from Newcastle NE-O, R&B hip-hop icon Aziya, Brighton-born R&B soul songwriter Lyamah and dnb hybrid trio NOISY. Also joining them is Welsh grime producer Douvelle19, electrifying Glasgow-based band Bottle Rockets, the stylish songwriter Nina Arya and Jamaican-Irish rapper JayaHadADream.

Other artists announced include pop singer and producer Michael Aldag, goth grunge Leeds locals Venus Grrrls, hip-hop and grime star Prido, soon to be pop icon Alessi Rose, Bengali-British rapper Surya Sen, pop-punk sister dup Baby Said and indie-pop band daydreamers.

Previously announced are Halifax’s songstress Ellur, York based indie-rock band Sun King, Hull’s electro-punk Jodie Langford and Barnsley’s genre-defining Delilah Bon, all of which just a tease for what is to come from some of the UK’s best up and coming talents.

Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic said, “BBC Music Introducing is a key part of what Reading & Leeds stands for, championing new talent and giving them a chance to expand their audiences on the most impactful stages in the country. The remarkable number of acts across the entire lineup, including headliners, who have come through BBC Introducing highlights its significance for the future of live music.
